This was the final hit for Chicory Tip and followed up "The Future Is Past" which
failed to make that charts. It was a return to the style which they were known for and a
return to form for the band but the rollercoaster chart ride they had with this song would
have made anyone dizzy!  The song was released on 2nd March 1973, it had been put
back from the original date of 23rd February, and it entered the British Top 40
at the number 32 position. It climbed to 24 then slipped back to 25.
It yo-yo'd back up to 23 then to 21 before sliding again to 23. It then took off again
and rose up to 19 before falling yet again to 21. But it wasn't over yet. A four place
leap to 17 gave it its highest chart position before dropping again, and after three
further weeks in the Top 40 it disappeared for the last time.

It was to be their final chart record, and even though there were four more singles
to come - all of them quality records - this would be their final moment in the sun.

LYRICS

Good Grief Christina! How come you never heard of rock and roll
Good Grief Christina! How come it never made it to your soul
Took her to a dance with a rock n roll show and the band opened up with "Oh My Soul"
I began to shake to the music's drive but Christina she couldn't jive

Good Grief Christina! How come you never heard of rock and roll
Good Grief Christina! How come it never made it to your soul
How can you stand around when the music's so hot with a beat like that of good time rock
They're bringing it back like it used to be, come and sing this riff with me

Good Grief Christina! How come you never heard of rock and roll
Good Grief Christina! How come it never made it to your soul
Forget about the ballads and the reggae too, we got "Boney Moronie" and "Peggy Sue"
Bringing it back like it used to be, come and sing this riff with me
