The song was originally written and recorded by Canadian rock band Bush but was
made famous by chart act Three Dog Night as the B side to their massive hit
"Joy To The World."  The four writers were Domenic Troiano, Hugh Sullivan,
Pentti Glan and Roy Kenner who all came from another band, Mandala.
Sullivan was actually only involved with Bush for live performances, which is why he
rarely appeared in group photographs.

Chicory Tip recorded the song for the album "Son Of My Father" and managed
to sneak a little bit of moog synthesizer into the arrangement. It showed off the
rockier leanings of the band probably for the first time on record. In the future they
would return to that heavier music with tracks like "Big Wheels Rolling" and "I See You".

LYRICS

I can hear you calling, call my name out loud
Know that makes me wonder, you used to be so proud
Sudden realisation gonna leave me now, that's why
I can hear you calling telling you goodbye
Gonna get no answer I'm telling you goodbye
I can hear you calling

We can't get together, think you're just too good
You can keep on calling me till it's understood
You got to learn the hard way, I think you know it's true
You got to get to get to get what you got coming, I know it's true
Don't you look so sorry, there's nothing I can do
I can hear you calling, I can hear you calling

I can hear you calling you know that ain't so right
You can keep on calling me till you see the light
I don't need aggravation a little bit all alone
You, you do wanna take all the baggage along
Call me if you want to, just don't stay too long
I can hear you calling, I can hear you calling, I can hear you calling
