MY GIRL SUNDAY
(Victor Millrose / Alan Bernstein)  Sunshine Music Limited

Origin:
Second Single release on CBS Records
Also available on:
Greatest Hits Digital Release
The Singles Collection CD (7Ts)

The second single by Chicory Tip was released on 2nd April 1971.
The B side of the single was "Doctor Man."
It didn't trouble the chart compilers. The song itself was written by Victor Millrose
and Alan Bernstein. Victor had success in 1964 when he penned the Elvis Presley
record "Smokey Mountain Boy" from the film "Kissin' Cousins." He had covers by Dusty Springfield including "I'll Try Anything" which was the biggest hit, and even Agnetha
Faltskog from Abba and Gene Pitney. So far we have found no information on Alan
except that he was the lyricist of the duo with Victor looking after the music.
As co-writers they penned "The Girl Is A Woman Now", a hit for Gary Puckett.

LYRICS

Oh I can't get Sunday out of my mind.
Because my girl Sunday's one of a kind
Ruby Tuesdays are gone, now that Sundays are here
When she looks at me Monday's blues disappear
And every day of the week is Sunday to me

Chorus

Oh I can't get Sunday out of my mind.
Because my girl Sunday's one of a kind

Like a child of the sun she's gentle and warm
And while I see in her eyes, makes me glad I was born
And every time that we touch I know I'm a man

Chorus repeat

My girl Sunday, Sunday stay with me
Never let me be alone again, I need you, I need your love
Now I can't get Sunday out of my mind.
Because my girl Sunday's one of a kind
Oh I can't get Sunday out of my mind
